List of Members/Candidates opposed to the fees

By repealvafees

Some of the candidates (both current members of the GA and challengers) have responded to my email and below is a list of those who are opposed to the fees. Please keep this in mind when you head to the polls on November 6.

The list is organized by district- you can find out what district you live in on Virginia’s Who is My Legislator? page.

This is not a comprehensive list because I was not able to find valid emails for all the candidates, and I’m sure some are too busy to respond in the last week of their campaigns. If you are a candidate or aware of a candidate who is opposed to the fees and not listed here, please contact me.

The files are in PDF format, so they require the free Acrobat Reader to view. Please check back because I will continue to update these files as more candidates commit to repealing the fees.

Update 11/4/07- add Bob Wilkerson (D- 15th district) to the list.

I am committed to fixing and repealing the driver fees in the next session. Thank you for your advocacy on this issue.

The only fix for this crap of a bill is to do away with it. If money is needed for highway project’s it should be SPREAD OUT FAIRLY TO EVERYONE WHO USES THE ROAD’S THROUGH A UNWANTED ADDITIONAL GASOLINE TAX. This bill is a blatant abuse of power and any politician who voted for it or backs it needs to go. They are clearly showing they are not capable of fairly handling the power given them. It is, and was wrong from the word go. Instead of asking for and taking more money some serious thought needs to be put into how money can be saved, fat chance of that. I regularly see road project’s being done that are by no means desperately needed and could easily be postponed for a later time. As has been said many times before this bill is nothing but highway robbery.
